Steps to Better Health: Why Walking Works Well Too
Guest Blogger Charlene Ragsdale, RobKellerMD.com Sponsored Athlete and a member of the USATF All-American Team resides in Las Vegas, NV with her husband, two teenage boys, 2 dogs & 2 hamsters. Charlene is also a professional blogger at www.FABRunning.com. 5 years ago I was introduced to the importance of Glutathione. More importantly, I was introduced to Dr. Keller’s formulas. 5 years later, myself and my family (including my dogs!) are faithful users of the OGF. Today, I would like to share with you about the benefits of walking. Some may think I would write a blog about running, but I believe that walking is the gateway to health. Many Americans find it hard to walk to the mailbox! Here are some benefits.
- Diminishes your chance of diabetes
Thirty minutes of walking a day makes your muscles more sensitive to insulin.
- Slims you down
Walking is a torch burner. The more you walk on a regular basis and not talking a casual stroll, get those arms pumping the more weight and inches you will lose.
- Reduces stress
Who doesn’t need to manage their stress. A brisk, quick paced walk each day will help you manage the day’s stress of work, family and an over loaded schedule.
- Better Sleep:
Exercise will help you sleep better at night. Anyone need more and/or better sleep?
How do you start a walking program? Put your tennis shoes on and get out the front door. Don’t like walking around your neighborhood, find a park. Wherever you go, get the legs and arms pumping. Feel the wonderful blood rushing through your body. Most importantly, don’t forget to drink and bring water with you. Dehydration is not allowed. Don’t forget to have fun and know you are improving your health with every step!
